Lighting a pilot - 5 steps
Step # 1 First you need to locate the gas valve. The gas valve will be located behind the lower grill panel of your fireplace or under you gas stove. |
Step # 2 Locate the control knob labeled on-off-pilot. Pictured here shows the small red indicator arrow of the gas control knob at the six o'clock position (This indicator position may be at nine o'clock depending on your brand of gas valve). |
Step # 3 Push the gas control knob in slightly and turn it to the "OFF" position. Wait five minutes. Again slightly push in the Control knob and turn the gas control knob to the "PILOT" position. |
Step # 4 Push in on the gas control knob and hold in. While holding in the gas control knob, push the ignitor (See Picture). Continue to hold in the gas control knob and push the ignitor until the pilot relights. It may take several minutes. |
Step #5 Continue to hold the gas control knob in for 30 seconds after the pilot ignites. After 30 seconds let up on the gas control knob, (if the pilot stays lit) turning it to the "ON" position. The unit is now ready to be turned on. |
